Carolina's 63-62 victory over Georgetown in the NCAA Championship game capped an incredible 32-2 season for the Tar Heels. A. 17-foot jump shot by freshman Michael Jordan with 15 seconds to play won it for Carolina. Jordan had 16 points and nine rebounds, but the star throughout that game and the season was James Worthy, a dynamic power forward who saved his greatest performance for that battle with the Hoyas, scoring a career-high 28 points and hitting 13 of 17 field goal attempts.
